Meet Dr. Brian Marino! Dr. Marino was raised in Oakland, NJ and attended Indian Hills High School. He currently resides in Wyckoff with his wife Kristen, their three children, James, Elizabeth, Madelyn and their dog Ryder, a Golden Retriever. When not treating patients Dr. Marino enjoys spending quality time with his family and rooting them on in soccer and lacrosse. He is a dedicated and committed baseball fan and loyal to the New York Yankees. A true outdoors man, he enjoys some stream time fly fishing in the West, the Catskills and locally on the Flat Brook with his son James and brother Frank. Dr. Marino loves exploring and traveling to new places with his family and is always brought back to his beloved Cape Cod where he enjoys fishing, biking and paddle boarding.

After working with two different doctors for a number of years Dr. Marino decided to open his own practice, it was in 2007 that Pequannock Valley Dental Associates was created. Dr. Marino was able to create a practice that reflects his practice philosophy where quality patient care is a top priority in a warm and welcoming environment. He focuses on connecting with the patients on a personal level so together they can develop a treatment plan that is tailored to the patient’s dental needs.

In April of 2021, Dr. Marino and Kristen acquired Dr. James Walter’s office in Montville, which became Montville Center for Dentistry. We had the opportunity to expand the space and the team! We are excited to be serving the patients in Montville and surrounding communities. In December of 2023, Dr. Marino and Kristen also had the opportunity to acquire two additional locations. One in Vernon, known as The Center for Dentistry of Vernon and in Whitehouse Station, Whitehouse Station Center For Dentistry.

We are making great changes to these additional locations which include facility updates, implementing the latest dental technology and growing a phenomenal team to serve all your dental needs. We are excited to be able to partner with you and your oral health!

Dr. Marino graduated from Rutgers College with honors and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Biology. A Dean’s Scholar graduate of University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) now known as Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. After completion of dental school, he chose to complete his general practice residency at Hackensack University Medical Center, which has been consistently rated New Jersey's #1 hospital by U.S. News & World Report. As a lifelong learner, Dr. Marino continues to routinely exceeds the annual requirements for continuing education in all areas of dentistry. He has been an Invisalign provider since 2004 and is one of very few dentists who traveled to Costa Rica to tour the facility where Invisalign is manufactured. While in Costa Rica, he had the opportunity to meet with case workers on an individual basis and learn the latest techniques in clear aligner treatment. He is also a member of clear aligners, (AACA). Dr. Marino has attended numerous courses in advanced courses in occlusion, advanced restorative dentistry and temporomandibular joint disorders at the Dawson Center. He is a CEREC user since 2008 and has personally restored thousands of same day porcelain crowns. He regularly attends advanced coursework on CAD CAM, also known as digital dentistry at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry in Arizona. Dr. Marino is a graduate of the Schuster Center for Dentistry for high quality technically advanced dentist to structure their practice to engage patients in a ethical manner. Currently, he is studying Implant Dentistry and will be traveling to the Dominican Republic to continue his surgical and prosthetic training. He is an active member in the ADA, American Dental Association and the NJDA, New Jersey Dental Association.

Dr. Anthony Nguyen

Dentist

Dr. Nguyen is a general dentist dedicated to serve and guide patients towards optimum dental health. Besides his silliness, he takes his time to support both the team and patients at Montville Center for Dentistry, facilitating a fun yet personal experience. With treatment, he utilizes a patient-centric approach: partnering with patients in achieving exceptional dental care.

Dr. Nguyen makes every effort to communicate and work through patients' anxiety, concerns and dental needs. He continues to stay up to date with current developments in dentistry, along with continuing education. He pursued his Bachelors in Biochemistry from San Jose State University. He then earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Touro College of Dental Medicine. His dental expertise encompasses all aspects of General Dentistry. 

When not in the office, Dr. Nguyen enjoys reading manga and building custom keyboards. He loves to cook and makes a variety of dishes, specializing in Vietnamese Cuisine. He loves music and listens to all genres ranging from kpop to electronic and even metal.  "As a doctor and as a person, I am here to help and support you through your journey in reaching optimal dental health."

Dr. Stacy Gurbarg

Dr. Stacy Gurbarg grew up outside of Philadelphia, PA. She attended the University of Virginia for her undergraduate degree and then moved to NYC to attend dental school at Columbia University. She then spent a few years in Jersey City before moving to Ramsey, NJ with her husband and two cats, Simone and Shaq! When she’s not helping her patients, Dr. Gurbarg enjoys cooking, walking, traveling, and trying new foods/restaurants (she is a self-professed “foodie”)!

During her years at Columbia, Dr. Gurbarg was given awards for leadership as well as excellence in restorative dentistry. After finishing dental school, Dr. Gurbarg attended residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center where she greatly expanded her skills in Oral Surgery, Implantology, Endodontics, and Cosmetic dentistry. She is Invisalign certified and loves to help her patients improve their smiles! Since her training, Dr. Gurbarg has taken courses to expand her knowledge in various aspects of dentistry and loves to stay up-to-date on the latest technology. Dr. Gurbarg has been with Montville Center for Dentistry since its inception in early 2021 and looks forward to meeting you!

Dr. Michael Chen embarked on his academic journey at Duke University, where he successfully earned dual degrees in Economics and Mathematics. This multidisciplinary foundation set the stage for his future accomplishments in the field of dentistry. His profound interest in comprehending intricate systems became the cornerstone of his subsequent achievements.

Continuing his pursuit of knowledge, Dr. Chen enrolled in the esteemed Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he delved deep into the intricate relationship between oral health and overall well-being. Armed with a comprehensive education, he further specialized in endodontics through a rigorous residency program at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. Throughout this period, Dr. Chen not only refined his clinical expertise but also conducted research on cutting-edge topics such as minimally invasive endodontics and regenerative endodontics.

Emerging from his residency as a highly skilled and compassionate endodontist, Dr. Chen is poised to make a meaningful impact on the lives of his patients. His approach is rooted in patient-centered care, and he remains committed to staying at the forefront of dental advancements. Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Chen actively engages in continuing education programs, demonstrating his dedication to ongoing professional development.

Dr. Chen is distinguished as a board-certified endodontist and holds the prestigious title of Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics—the highest accolade in the field. His unwavering commitment to excellence positions him as a leading figure in endodontic care, ensuring that he delivers the highest standard of service to his patients while contributing to the continued progress of dental science.

Dr. Rafael Anapolle

Dr. Rafael (Rafi) Anapolle was born in Boston, MA and grew up in Florida, Texas, New York, finally settling in New Jersey. He currently lives in Bergen County, along with his wife Rivka and their two children. He met his wife in college at Yeshiva University, in New York, where he graduated with honors and degrees in Biology and Chemistry. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (formerly known as UMDNJ). The only thing he loves more than Dentistry is his family and community that supported him as he pursued his passion. When Dr. Anapolle is away from the dental chair, you can find him playing or reading with his kids, spending time with his extended family and friends, or singing whatever song is his daughter’s favorite that week.

Dr. Anapolle completed a 1-year Periodontics-Prosthodontics fellowship program at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM) where he gained experience in periodontal surgery, implantology, aesthetics, and advanced prosthetics. He currently serves as a clinical instructor for the Perio-Pros fellowship program at Rutgers Dental where he performs clinical research and mentors the fellows there. After completing his training in Newark at Rutgers Dental, Dr. Anapolle completed a 1-year General Practice Residency (GPR) at Hackensack University Medical Center, a level-1 trauma center in the heart of Bergen County, NJ. Dr. Anapolle further advanced his clinical skills at Hackensack Hospital while training with some of the top doctors in New Jersey. Dr. Anapolle performs procedures in all aspects of general dentistry including implantology, oral surgery, aesthetics, endodontics, tooth and implant full-mouth rehabilitation, laser dentistry, and digital dentistry.

In addition to clinical skills, Dr. Anapolle prides himself on his interpersonal skills and doctor-patient relationships. Dr. Anapolle’s favorite part about Dentistry is connecting with patients and listening attentively to their concerns. He is passionate about delivering empathic care in a patient-centered environment. Dr. Anapolle and his team look forward to meeting you at Montville Center for Dentistry!

Kristen Marino

Meet Kristen Marino

Business Manager/Owner

Happily married since 2000, Kristen and Dr. Marino have 3 children.; James, Elizabeth and Madelyn. Kristen enjoys spending her time with her family cheering them on from the sidelines and finds great joy in watching their children grow. She enjoys cooking for her family and creating memories as they travel to new places each year. An avid skier and nature lover, Kristen finds much happiness in the great outdoors, whether that is a hike in the National Parks, skiing or simply combing the beach for shells at her beloved Cape Cod.

Kristen, Dr. Marino’s business partner and wife have partnered together on various projects since 2007 Dr. Marino introduced Kristen to the potential of her involvement in the practices in 2007, when we acquired Pequannock Valley Dental Associates, Montville, Center For Dentistry (2021), Whitehouse Station Center For Dentistry (2023) and The Center For Dentistry of Vernon (2023) Kristen was new to the field of dentistry in 2007 after making a complete career change, originally a teacher with a degree specialized in education and obtaining a M.ED in Developmental Disabilities. Kristen offers a unique perspective with her background in education than others who are in the industry.

A natural eye for design and detail, Kristen helps to transform the dental spaces so they are aesthetically pleasing and comforting to patients. Kristen is committed to the growth and development of the team and she diligently works with each team member to create a path for growth in working within their unique strengths. Kristen’s is heavily involved in the development of systems, operating procedures and curriculum for the dental practices. As a teacher at heart, she always loves to bring on, develop and grow team members who are aligned with the vision of the practices and guides with a servant's heart. She views each day as a new opportunity for learning and developing professionally and personally and continues to surrounds herself in this industry with the top leaders in the dental space.
